Dignitaries including Hungarian Ambassador to South Korea Istvan Szerdahelyi, First Vice Health Minister Lee Ki-il, Roh Jae-heon, chairman of the Korea-Hungary Friendship Association, and Ryu Kwon-ha, honorary consul of Hungary and a visiting professor at Jeonbuk National University, took part in a national day event commemorating the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 at the Ambassador Hotel in central Seoul on Friday.
The Hungarian Revolution was an anti-Soviet popular uprising which began in Budapest and lasted from Oct. 23 to Nov. 11, 1956.
