The DB Kim Jun Ki Cultural Foundation donated 120 million won ($87,000) to Ewha Womans University for scholarships benefiting international students from developing countries.

The donation will go toward the Ewha Global Partnership Program (EGPP) scholarship, the university announced on Wednesday.

The EGPP scholarship is designed for international students from developing countries — based on the OECD's list of official development assistance recipients — enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs at Ewha Womans University. It covers full tuition and dormitory fees, and provides a stipend, funded by various foundations and individuals.

Students apply for the scholarship alongside their university applications.

"We have been looking for ways to support talented female students in Vietnam and became interested in Ewha Womans University's EGPP scholarship," said Kang Eun-jung, executive director of the foundation. "We hope to help female students from various countries, who have been marginalized in higher education, experience Ewha's excellent education and grow into global talents."

The DB Kim Jun Ki Cultural Foundation has donated more than 5 billion won to Ewha Womans University since 1999.
