A wild boar rampaged through a city railway station in South Gyeongsang and bit a person's arm on Tuesday.
The Gyeongsangnam-do Fire Department reported that the boar was first sighted near a restaurant in Dong-myeon, Yangsan, around 4:45 p.m., and it reportedly crossed an eight-lane road.
The boar then entered Hopo Station on Busan Metro Line No. 2 and bit the right arm of a man in the toilet area on the third floor. The animal also damaged a glass door at the customer service center on the fourth floor of the station.
Upon receiving the report, police officers arrived and fired three shots at the boar after cornering it near the edge of the platform on the fifth floor. A professional hunter then shot the boar again to ensure it was dead at around 5:43 p.m.
Police said the boar measured 1.5 meters (4.92 feet) in body length and weighed approximately 100 kilograms (220 pounds).
Authorities reported that the injured man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police and fire authorities are now investigating how the wild boar ended up in a downtown area.
