G-Dragon's new single of seven years, "Power," topped the iTunes chart in 15 countries, his agency Galaxy Corporation said Saturday.

It ranked first on the streaming platform's Top Song charts for countries including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Thailand.

It is placed second on local music streaming platforms like Bugs, Melon, and Genie, following Rosé's "APT" with Bruno Mars.

G-Dragon's "Power" follows his 2017 EP "Kwon Ji Yong,” through which he became the first Korean artist to reach No. 1 on both the Billboard World Albums Chart and Japan’s Oricon Digital Chart.

The new song is G-Dragon's satirical take on the power of media. "During my seven-year hiatus, I realized the incredible influence of media as a third-party observer," he said on last week's episode of tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block.”

The artist has faced charges of drug use that were dropped due to insufficient evidence in December 2023. He was one of the 10 people, including the late actor Lee Sun-kyun, being aggressively investigated for drug use, during which Lee took his own life on Dec. 27. It was later revealed that the police leaked information about the drug investigations to the press.
