Korean celebrities congratulate Lee 'Faker' Sang-hyeok, T1 on League of Legends world title

Football star Son Heung-min and K-pop idols such as EXO’s Baekhyun and Super Junior’s Kim Hee-chul joined esports fans in celebrating League of Legends player Faker and his team T1’s victory at the 2024 League of Legends World Championship.
League of Legends legend Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and his team T1 secured a historic 3-2 victory over Bilibili Gaming in the 2024 League of Legends World Championship final at London’s O2 Arena. With this win, Faker claimed his fifth world championship title, the first feat ever achieved by a League of Legends player.
On Sunday, Tottenham Hotspur captain Son posted a picture of the T1 players on Instagram with the caption, “Legends, all of you. So so proud.”
EXO member Baekhyun shared a video on social media of himself in a T1 uniform, saying, “I’m so glad to be able to watch them write new history.”
Super Junior’s Kim Hee-chul expressed his congratulations on social media, stating, “Great job. It’s just crazy.” He added, “I was touched again today as a longtime fan, ever since Faker used a different game name, ‘Najin.’ Faker has always been the best.”
Actor Park Bo-young, a known League of Legends fan, also took to social media to congratulate the team, saying, “I trusted you guys!”
Boy band Highlight's Yoon Doo-joon livestreamed himself watching the final match, apologizing to his fans for the late-night broadcast. He celebrated T1's victory in a T1 uniform with Faker's name.
Singers Yerin Baek and Haha also joined in the celebrations on social media.
