Kofi Annan Visits Korea

Kofi Annan, the Secretary General of the United Nations, is visiting Korea to participate in the Seoul Peace Prize award ceremony on October 22. Annan who was invited by the Korean government paid a courtesy visit to President Kim Dae Jung to discuss the realignment of the UN Security Commission and the situation of Korean Peninsula.
Annan will receive the 1998 Seoul Peace Prize at the Hotel Shilla and give a speech in a ceremony commemorating United Nations Day at the Hyatt Hotel. He is the fourth UN Secretary General to visit Korea.
