One Euro = 1,401.84 Won
The first euro-won exchange rate was fixed at 1 to 1,401.68 won on January 2.On January 1, the euro was introduced as the single European currency for 11 EU countries.
The 11 'Euroland' countries will use the euro, but not actually physically, along with their own currencies until June 30, 2002 when a physical euro is issued.
Foreign currency experts forecast that the euro will come out strong against the U.S. dollar for the first several weeks of 1999.
The euro-dollar exchange rate recorded 1 to 1.1723 on January 2.
