Foreign Companies Revitalizing

Foreign companies in Korea have decided that the Korean economy hit its lowest point and began aggressive marketing.
The Wales Investment Development Administration in Britain plans to hold an information seminar on investment for Korean companies sometime in March.
Hansung Motors, the importing company of Daimler Chrysler, held a news conference to unveil its new model, the 'New S-class', on January 27 and to inaugurate its release in Korea.
A source at the company said, 'Consumption in Korea is expected to recover. So, we decided to begin more aggressive marketing and advertisement.'
Visa International Korea has started a 'Korea Welcomes Visa' campaign in association with the Korea Tourism Organization and Korean Air. The campaign hopes to attract more foreigners who are visa cardholders to Korea.
Japanese companies are even more active. Casio Watches sponsored a snow-board championship to promote sales of its 'G-shock' model. Sony introduced 1,000 camcorders as a test project in Korea while Hitachi and Sharp began market research for their TV sets which have been approved for importing.
