&#91LETTERS TO THE EDITOR&#93Lotto source of unbridled money chase

Although the objective of the Lotto is to provide money for the needy, everyone is focused on the money and not the charity.

Although the possibility of a player striking gold is next to none, increasing numbers of people are investing their time, energy and cash to purchase a ticket of dreams. Fingers crossed, they wait. There should be a movement to curtail this blind chase of riches.

The last government made sure the lottery business did not go overboard. They made sure each lottery was administered to avoid a game of chance that took advantage of naive greed.

The current government has allowed the history breaking "Plus Plus Lottery Ticket." The jackpot rose to four billion won ($3.5 million), but it is no longer a match for the new Lotto.

Wishing for luck cannot be all bad. But the frenzy to snatch a mirage should be curtailed by the government.
