Army’s needs force LCD factory relocationAffiliated companies of LG.Philips LCD are expected to locate their development complex in the Munsan district of Paju, Gyeonggi province, rather than the area in which it was originally planned. The complex was originally expected to be built in Paju’s Wollong and Tanhyeon areas, but the firm changed to the Munsan district because the army required the land. Paju is very close to the Demilitarized Zone. According to LG. Philips LCD and officials of Gyeonggi province yesterday, 40 to 50 affiliated companies will be located in the complex, after negotiations with the Ministry of National Defense are finalized. Construction is expected to begin next March.
