Lee Si-young gives up boxing dreams

테스트

Actress Lee Si-young has retired from her position as a national boxer, according to her talent agency Wednesday morning.

The 33-year-old is reported to have halted all her training activities since June due to the frequent dislocation of her shoulder.

Lee had been training to take part in the boxing competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Yet, she ultimately decided to quit the sport after training as a boxer for the last six years.

This is not the first time that Lee has experienced pain in her shoulder. She was injured on her right shoulder in 2013 during a match. Her condition worsened, and she was forced to give up on all the matches she was planning to take part in last year.

Although Lee tried her best to continue as a sports star by switching from an orthodox stance to southpaw stance, the situation hasn’t improved for Lee.

According to a person involved with the TV personality, “Lee deeply deliberated on whether to retire from boxing or not. However, since there were limits for her to hold down acting and sports careers at the same time, she decided to retire from boxing.”

Since her debut as an actress in 2008, Lee has been participating in various TV projects. A few of her well-known drama series include “Boys Over Flowers” (2009), “Playful Kiss” (2010) and “Golden Cross” (2014).
