Hankook Tire is quickly becoming a leading global tire company through continuous R&D in a rapidly changing economy.

The company leads innovation through its Technodome and Technotrac facilities, while its R&D innovation creates strategic partnerships with global premium car brands and establishes Hankook Tire as a leading automotive company with the best technology and brand value.

Hankook Tire has taken its place among the top automotive companies in the world by fully preparing for future driving environments and improving its R&D infrastructure.

Hankook Technodome, the company’s new R&D center, is the root of its technology and innovation, and the only tire company research facility to have a Driving Simulation Center for vehicle testing. It is a laboratory that is capable of performing virtual driving tests with real-world settings based on major race tracks, including Formula 1 tracks. The accuracy of the test result is achieved through the Suspension Parameter Measuring Machine, which records all digital values of the cars’ features when driving.

The facility also includes a cutting-edge tire noise measuring room, which can closely monitor a tire’s noise level, a new standard in future tire technology.

Hankook Tire also recently opened the Technotrac, a new testing ground for winter tire performance in Ivalo, Finland. The facility is a first among Korean tire makers.

Technotrac is located in the very northern corner of Finland, therefore providing the most suitable environment for winter tire tests. It is a key part of Hankook Tire’s innovative R&D approach to testing future-oriented tire technology.

With the best-quality technology, Hankook Tire’s R&D innovation is allowing the tire maker to expand its supply of original equipment tires (OET) - the tires included with a newly manufactured vehicle - for premium vehicles around the world. Hankook Tire OET tires are now featured on vehicles from Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi, Toyota and Honda, among others.

The tire maker raised its status further by exclusively supplying the Ventus F200 and Ventus Z207 racing car tires for the BMW M4 GT4. The low-noise Ventus S1 evo2 SUV tires are included on leading Mercedes Benz SUVs including the GLC and GLC Coupe, as well as Audi’s New RS5 Coupe and New RS4 Avant.

The all-season Kinergy GT tire is included on the 2018 Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.

Currently, Hankook Tire is supplying tires for 310 vehicles from 45 brands globally. In 2013, the company became the first Korean tire maker to supply new tires to Germany’s top three vehicle manufacturers, and the company continues to expand the list of brands it works with today.

Hankook Tire will not only cement its partnerships with global premium car brands with its leading technology based on R&D innovation, but also plans to expand its premium car tire business lines with tires for various models including luxury sedans, SUVs and sports cars.
