Michael Lee to return in ‘Hedwig’Korean-American actor Michael Lee has been cast in a special limited run of the musical “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” beginning on Sept. 29, the musical’s production company Show Note announced on Friday.
The musical revolves around a German transgender rock musician named Hedwig who tries to live a new life overcoming his sorrowful past.
The 15-year-old show has long been a favorite of local musical fans, and the actor was praised for his 2017 performance in which the plot had the rock musician visiting Korea to add a local twist to the musical, in which Lee performed in English without subtitles. Even without the help of subtitles, the actor managed to move the audience.
“This time, we are planning to add Korean subtitles so that the audience can enjoy the show even more,” said show organizers.
The musical runs through until Nov. 3 at Hongik Daehangno Art Center, central Seoul. Ticket reservations can be made through local ticket reservation websites Yes24 or Interpark.
