KCTU May Decide to Withdraw from TC Soon

The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) announced on September 9 that it will consider withdrawing from the Tripartite Committee (TC). A spokesman from KCTU said, 'It does not make sense to participate in the TC any longer in the situation where an agreement by the first TC still has not been legislated..'
Lee Kap Yong, KCTU chairman said, 'The handling of the government and the management of incidents at Hyundai Motor Co., Mando Machinery, and Anam Semiconductors does not coincide with our agreement with the TC.' KCTU will decide the withdrawal issue during its convention starting September 10.
