Moon saves study center from closure with charitable funding

Philanthropist Moon Geun-young will hand over tomorrow the keys of a study room she helped save from closure to an NGO devoted to helping underprivileged kids.

The actress has been helping to fund the facility, located in South Jeolla, since 2007 when she heard it was at risk of being shut down.

Thanks to Moon, well known for her charitable donations, the once dilapidated facility is now a regional children’s center for education with clean desks, new computers, and even shower facilities.

Moon decided to give the center to Good People, where it could be managed by professionals.

Established in 1999, the organization holds consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
