Uee considers drama lead

Another K-pop star is looking to make the jump into acting via the small screen after singer IU made a splash with her acting debut in the KBS weekend drama “You’re the Best, Lee Soon-shin.”

Uee, of the popular girl group After School, appears to be following in IU’s footsteps.

It was reported yesterday that Uee is considering playing the lead character in MBC’s upcoming weekend drama “Golden Rainbow.”

The drama will depict the lives of seven orphans who grew up together in a town near the ocean. Uee will be playing the oldest of the seven, named Baekwon, who later turns out to be the granddaughter of a local conglomerate boss.

Actress Kim Yoo-jung, of the MBC drama “The Moon That Embraces the Sun,” will play a younger version of Baekwon.

The drama is scheduled to air in November.
