Jang becomes a killer

Actress Kim Min-hee, who starred in this spring’s hit “Very Ordinary Couple,” is teaming up with major star Jang Dong-gun for the new movie “Crying Man.”

Director Lee Jeong-beom, who directed the 2010 hit “The Man From Nowhere” with actor Won Bin, will helm “Crying Man,” a melodrama about a veteran assassin.

After weathering years of criticism about her acting skills, Kim surprised many with “Very Ordinary Couple,” which won her the best actress award at the 49th Paeksang Arts Awards in May.

In this new movie, she will play a woman who is targeted for death by Jang’s assassin.

Actress Im Soo-jung, of the KBS drama “I’m Sorry, I Love You,” was previously considered for Kim’s part but eventually declined the role.

The movie is slated to start filming as early as next month.
