Jo Yeo-jung picked for two movies

Actress Jo Yeo-jung, who starred in the 2012 film “The Concubine,” appears to have become quite a hot commodity in Korean movie circles, with two starring roles just announced.

Jo was confirmed yesterday to have joined the cast of a thriller titled “Point Blank,” just days after she was booked for the steamy drama “Human Addiction.”

In “Point Blank,” a remake of the 2010 French action thriller “A bout portant,” Jo will play the wife of a hospital resident who is kidnapped by a killer.

Jo’s fans appear excited by the role, as it is the first time the actress has been cast in an action movie.

Actor Ryu Seung-ryong, from this year’s surprise hit “Miracle in Cell No. 7,” Lee Jin-wook, of cable channel tvN’s dramas “I Need Romance” and “Nine,” and actress Kim Sung-ryung, of the SBS drama “King of Ambition,” have also been cast in the movie.

Meanwhile, Jo has been taking part in the Atlanta Korean Film Festival, together with Ryu and other Korean celebrities. The festival will last until Saturday.
