Radhames Liz, LG Twins agree to one-year deal

Radhames Liz signed a one-year deal with the LG Twins yesterday. The 30-year-old right-hander will play his fourth season in the Korea Baseball Organization next year, all with the Twins. Liz led the Twins’ pitching rotation and went 10-13 with a 3.06 ERA, which was the fourth best among the league’s starting pitchers. He was also the only pitcher with more than 200 innings (he pitched 202 and two-thirds innings) and led the league with 188 strikeouts.

The Nexen Heroes acquired an imported bat on their roster, signing a one-year, $300,000 deal with 32-year-old Vinny Rottino of the United States. He played with the Orix Buffaloes of Japan last season, and hit .356 with seven home runs and 33 RBI in the team’s 52 minor league games. He can play first and third base and every outfield position. He made his debut with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2006 and hit .165 with three home runs and 11 RBI in 62 major league games.
