A brand new type of reality TV show, in which celebrities answer questions in various categories and discuss their answers, launched on Thursday on tvN.

“The Wise Guy” features entertainer Jun Hyun-moo, actor Ha Seok-jin, singer Lee Jang-won, boy group Bangtan Boys’ Rap Monster, Tyler Rasch of TV panel show “Non-Summit” and actor Kim Ji-seok.

“It is a hybrid show combined with a quiz show and talk show. The guests are strictly selected,” said Jun.

All the members of the show are chosen for their intelligence as well as their good looks.

“Each guest has one distinctive point as a ‘hot brain guy.’ For example, Lee Jang-won is a Ph.D. engineering student at [the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology], one of the nation’s top technology institution, and Rap Monster has an IQ of 148,” added Kim.

According to Lee Geun-chan, the producer of the reality show, experts from various fields created the questions for the show.

“The questions are like a social issue or a topic to discuss together instead of solving the problem to test how the guest is genius,” said Lee when the reporter asked about the difference between “The Wise Guy” and the survival TV quiz program “Genius.”

“The Wise Guy” will air every Thursday at 11 p.m.
