BTS confirmed for ‘America’s Got Talent’

K-pop phenomenon BTS will perform on a special stage for “America’s Got Talent,” the show announced on their official Instagram account on Thursday.

BTS is expected to perform for the semifinals of the talent show, which will air on Sept. 12. Excitement about BTS appearing on the show mounted when host Tyra Banks unexpectedly announced that they will be “heating up the stage” on a previous episode. It was on Thursday that the show confirmed that BTS will actually be showing up.

“America’s Got Talent” is broadcast on NBC. It is part of the global “Got Talent” franchise created by former judge Simon Cowell. Currently the show is hosted by American supermodel Banks.

The BTS appearance will coincide with the start of the group’s “Love Yourself” international tour. It will started the tour in Los Angeles with performances from Sept. 5 to 8.

The latest BTS album, the final installment in the “Love Yourself” series, reached the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart for the week, and the lead track of the album debuted on the Hot 100 chart in 11th place.
