Ong Seong-wu cast in JTBC drama
Although Ong, who made his entertainment debut as a part of Wanna One, is known for his dancing and singing skills, he was initially training to become an actor at the agency.
This will be his first official lead role.
In “18,” Ong will play the role of 18-year-old Choi Jun-wu, who’s ready to break into the world, but doesn’t know how. The drama will revolve around Jun-wu as he makes new friends at a new school.
“I’m both really nervous and excited at the same time,” said Ong. “It’s just like when I made my debut. I’m ready to give my all to this work, since it’s something that I’ve been dreaming for such a long time.”
The drama “18” will star Ong, as well as actors Kim Hyang-gi and Shin Seung-ho. This is Kim’s first drama in four years.
Aside from acting, Ong will also pursue a singing career and plans to release a solo album in the upcoming months.
