SBS to launch live YouTube channel

Local broadcaster SBS will open a new YouTube channel for its main news program “8 News” in order to better connect with viewers.

“We will be opening a 24-hour live channel on YouTube starting in April, and we are currently building a studio for the project,” the broadcaster announced Thursday. “We will also be replacing our current weekend 8 o’clock news anchor [Jeong Mi-seon] with Kim Min-hyung. Kim was recently selected from an audition.”

The upcoming YouTube news channel will offer various themed programs, live reports, as well as in-depth reportage. It will be anchored by Kim Hyun-woo and Choi Hye-rim during weekdays and by Kim Bum-joo and Kim Min-hyung over the weekends.
