IZ*ONE tops local, Japanese charts

테스트

Girl group IZ*ONE is dominating both Japanese and local music charts, their agency Off The Record announced on Thursday.

According to the Oricon Overseas Albums Chart, the group’s second EP “HEART*IZ” topped the weekly album ranking dated April 1 to 7.

This is the first time a K-pop group has made it to the top five of the Oricon Weekly Albums Charts, setting a new record not only themselves but all of K-pop.

The girls are proving to be a major hit in the Japanese music industry, after reaching No. 1 on the Oricon Daily Singles Charts with their Japanese debut single “I Want To Say I Like You” two months ago.

Meanwhile, the group has also broken an album sales record for a K-pop girl group in the first week of its release, selling more than 130,000 copies.

The music video for the group’s song “Violeta” surpassed 10 million views on YouTube within three days of its release and is already closing in on 20 million views as of Thursday.
