Hyundai Motor Group to pay for staff to visit Gangwon

Hyundai Motor Group said Wednesday that it will partially cover costs for employees travelling to Gangwon in an effort to encourage tourism to support the province that was recently ravaged by one of the worst wildfires in the country’s recent history.

The automaker said that it will cover the cost of accommodation in the province for 500 employees and give 1,000 employees gift certificates for products from the region between late April and late June.

The company said it purchased gift certificates worth 150 million won ($132,500) that can be used by employees to purchase products from Gangwon.

Hyundai Motor has already promised to donate 1 billion won to recovery efforts for Gangwon residents who suffered losses from the fire that tore through the coastal area around Gangneung earlier this month.
