Animation fest kicks off on Oct. 18
The 21st Bucheon International Animation Festival will be held from Oct. 18 to 22, screening 166 animated films from 38 countries.
Director Yuasa Masaaki’s “Ride Your Wave” was selected to open the film event on Oct. 18. The film tells the love story of a young firefighter named Minato and a college student named Hinako who loves to surf. The film takes place in a peaceful seaside town.
For the international competition in feature films, eight films will compete for four prizes: Grand Prize, Jury Prize, Special Distinction Prize and Audience Prize.
Actor Shin Ye-eun is the honorary ambassador for this year’s event. More information about the event can be found at biaf.or.kr.
