BMW says it’s bringing back 8 Series after 20-year hiatus

BMW Group Korea said Wednesday that it has started taking preorders for the new 8 Series.

The 8 Series, which has been off the market for 20 years, is coming back with enhanced performance, design and convenient features. The high-performance lineup that was only sold for a decade from 1989 to 1999 will start to reappear in November this year.

BMW Group Korea is selling the 840i xDrive M Sports Coupe at 138 million won ($114,475), 840i xDrive M Sports Gran Coupe for 134.1 million won, 840d xDrive M Sports Gran Coupe for 135 million won and M8 Coupe Competition for 239.5 million won.

The M8 Coupe Competition, the highest-performing car in the lineup, is rated at 625 horsepower and takes just 3.2 seconds to go from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour (62 miles per hour).
