Loona tops iTunes album chart

Girl group Loona topped the U.S. iTunes Top Albums chart with their album “X X” on the chart’s Oct. 17 local update.

According to Polaris Entertainment, the group’s agency, Loona’s full-length album sat at the No. 1 spot of the iTunes album chart eight months after its release in February.

This is the third time for a K-pop girl group to have topped the U.S. album chart, following chart-topping Red Velvet and Twice.

“It is a meaningful feat for the group to stand shoulder to shoulder with some of the biggest pop stars in the world, such as Taylor Swift and Post Malone,” the agency said.

Loona made their debut in August last year, with first album “+ +,” and recently met with U.S. fans at KCON, held in September in Los Angeles.
