Although Sarah Connor and her son John managed to prevent the evil artificial intelligence (AI) Skynet from destroying humanity, in an alternate future a new AI, Legion, is rising to fulfil what its predecessor failed to do.
In the year 2020, a human cyborg named Grace and a terminator named Rev-9 arrive separately from the future to a factory located in Mexico City to find Daniella “Dani” Ramos, who will become the new future leader of the Resistance. The twos’ objectives differ widely - the former attempts to save Dani, while the other was sent to kill her.
After Sarah Connor arrives and manages to temporarily distract Rev-9, Sarah, Grace and Dani escape the factory.
Before Sarah can teach and train Dani as a new Resistance leader, however, the three must defeat Rev-9, a powerful shape-shifting endoskeleton that can also split into two separate autonomous entities. The trio receives assistance in the most unexpected form.
A direct sequel of the second Terminator film “Terminator 2: Judgement Day,” the film was created along with the help of the original director James Cameron, who helped as a producer. Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger reprise their roles of Sarah Connor and T-800 Terminator, with new stars Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, and Gabriel Luna as Grace, Dani and Rev-9.
