Seoul welcomes honorary citizens

Entertainers Mark Tetto and Sujan Shakya from the popular JTBC variety show “Abnormal Summit” were awarded honorary citizenship from the Seoul Metropolitan government on Wednesday.

A total of 18 people from 14 countries were selected to become this year’s honorary citizens, according to the government. Other popular foreign entertainers active in the local television industry, such as Fabien Yoon, Le Nguyen Minh Phuong and Christian Burgos, were listed amongst the 18 members.

Including this year’s honorees, a total of 853 foreigners from 98 countries were bestowed with the honorary citizenship.

The newly-elected honorary citizens were each given certificates and a commemorative medal from Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon at the ceremony held in City Hall, central Seoul on Wednesday afternoon.
