C-Lab spins off four new start-ups
Most of the spin-offs from the C-Lab program make artificial intelligence (AI)-related products linked with lifestyle and entertainment, according to the company on Sunday.
Luple, a compound of the words light and people, showcased its lighting prototype. It is fitted with a camera to provide optimal illumination depending on a user’s activities.
It brought the product to this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and is now developing a lighting system designed to track biorhythms.
Toonsquare incorporates AI technology to help people create their own story with animated images. With automated analysis of text from a user, Toonsquare’s “Itself” platform helps amateur artists translate their ideas or daily lives into webtoons.
Trineedle has developed an augmented reality (AR)-based service that will allow for better engagement between creators and viewers.
Presently, they communicate primarily via text message, but Trineedle’s Tisplay solution enables interaction based on images and videos powered by AR technology.
JoyBro delves into a distinctive sector: fragrance. The unit aims to create tailor-made fragrances and apply the perfume to products.
Launched in 2012, C-Lab invites any Samsung Electronics worker to test out new ideas and services.
