Korea to be honored at 2020 MiptvKorea will be the Country of Honor at the annual Miptv media market which will be hosted from March 30 to April 2 in Cannes, France, the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) announced on Thursday.
Miptv is the largest international broadcasting content trade fair in the world. The event invites about 10,000 experts from 2,800 broadcasters worldwide.
KCC will be supporting local broadcast content to promote its originality and potential to secure investment and exports of media content.
The organization will be hosting various programs under the slogan of “Korea, Story Connects Us” to emphasize the country’s widening global influence.
It will be conducting one-on-one business networking and pitching events, where local broadcast entrepreneurs can introduce and promote their content formats to foreign buyers.
At the fair, panels and events about successful cases of expanding Hallyu broadcast content and over-the-top (OTT) platforms overseas are expected to be held as well.
“Like the Miptv slogan, we hope that Korea can develop and create various broadcasting content that can resonate with the world,” said Han Sang-hyuk, the chairperson of the organization, in an official statement.
