‘Parasite’ reaches $50 million in U.S.

Bong Joon-ho’s Oscar-winning film “Parasite” has surpassed $50 million in sales at the U.S. box office, Deadline Hollywood reported on Thursday.

“Parasite is hot on the heels of Miramax’s Hero ($53.7M) from 2002, as well as [...] Oscar winner Life is Beautiful from 1997,” it said.

“Life is Beautiful” is a 1997 film that set the record in the U.S. box office at $57 million.

Among the foreign-language films that have hit records in U.S. box office is “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” (2000), which crossed $128 million, followed by “Life Is Beautiful” and “Hero” (2002) which crossed $53.7 million, according to Deadline.
