High hopes for ‘Hospital Playlist’ as it makes its premiere tonight“Hospital Playlist,” a tvN drama series launching this evening, has gained attention for the combination of successful producers, writers and actors working on the show.
Shin Won-ho, the lead producer of the series about doctors working together in a hospital who form a band together, was the producer of the famous “Reply 1997” series. Shin is well-known for casting formerly unknown actors and turning them into stars through the success of show.
But this time, he is changing things up.
“I cast Cho Jung-seok because the story is about five friends at a hospital, and I thought that to go through with five unknown actors would not work out well,” Shin said at a press conference on Tuesday.
“So, writer Lee Woo-jung and I made the decision to do things a little differently this time.”
Lee was also a writer on “Reply 1997.”
One of the actors playing a main character on the series is Jeon Mi-do, a musical actor. This will be her first appearance in a drama series. She is the only woman of the five friends at the core of the story.
Another drama series about doctors, SBS’s “Dr. Romantic 2” concluded last month, with its final episode reaching a record-breaking 27.1 percent nationwide viewer rating.
