Jeonju International Film Festival gets delayed by a month

After a board meeting on Wednesday, the organizing committee of the 21st Jeonju International Film Festival (JIFF) decided to postpone the event for a month.

The opening of the film event was pushed back from April 30 to May 28.

“Due to the long-lasting coronavirus, the JIFF organizing committee decided to delay the opening of the festival taking into consideration the potentially dangerous situation that could arise for our guests and audiences,” the organizers said.

“We will closely monitor developments related to the virus and prepare for the event on high alert in order to host the festival despite its delay,” festival director Lee Joon-dong said.

The 21st JIFF will run from May 28 to June 6 at Jeonju Movie Street and Palbok Art Factory.
