Doosan Heavy wins contract to supply cranes to Busan

Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction inked an agreement with the Busan Port Authority to supply 12 transfer cranes to the city’s port terminal, the company announced Tuesday.

Under the contract, Doosan Heavy will deliver the transfer cranes to the Pusan Newport International Terminal by March 2022.

Doosan Heavy supplied 49 of the 230 transfer cranes operated at the terminal in 2006. The rest of the transfer cranes are from Chinese companies.

As the Busan Port Authority seeks to expand its facilities in coming years, Doosan Heavy could find additional construction opportunities in the future. The port authority is planning to add 12 new ports, to be opened by 2026.
