The coronavirus outbreak battered industry across the board, but a rare champion during the pandemic has been the semiconductor business due to booming traffic online driven largely by stay-at-home orders.
SK hynix has begun providing samples of its 176-layer 4D NAND Flash chip, the semiconductor manufacturer said Monday, as it prepares to roll out the highest stacked NAND memory chip on the market.
NAND production will begin at Pyeongtaek Line 2 — known as P2 — in the second half of 2021, Samsung Electronics announced Monday. The initial phases of the expansion that comes before adding production equipment, began in May.
Samsung Electronics announced plans Monday to expand NAND flash production capacity in its Pyeongtaek complex in Gyeonggi. Mass production is scheduled to start during the second half of 2021, the company said.
