A heavy snow advisory was issued Thursday in the greater Seoul area and some central parts of the country, the state weather agency said.
At least 44 cars collided on an icy highway in Pocheon, Gyeonggi, on Sunday night, killing one person. The accident occurred on the Guri-Pocheon Expressway at around 9:10 p.m. on Sunday, also leading to three injuries.
A 3.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Ganghwa County in Incheon early Monday jolted people awake as far as Gyeonggi and Seoul, and was the second exceeding 3.5 magnitude to hit Korea within three months.
Snow will continue in the wider Seoul area and central inland regions into Wednesday afternoon, the state weather agency said, forecasting up to 15 centimeters in some areas.
