Air travelers between Korea and Japan have increased by 20.8 percent on year so far this month, despite an earthquake warning issued in the neighboring country.
Last year’s air traffic over Korean skies almost caught up to its pre-pandemic level in 2019, but travel through Chinese and European routes have been slow to catch up.
The conference is held as countries have been gradually lifting travel restrictions adopted in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, including mandatory quarantine.
Hana Tour, the country’s largest tour agency, extended unpaid vacations for its staff for another four months as the travel industry continues to suffer from the pandemic.
