Korea's Ministry of Environment has scrapped plans to ban the use of paper cups following complaints from merchants and consumers. The government will instead recommend that businesses utilize multiuse cups.
More disposable plastics will disappear from convenience stores, coffee shops and restaurants Thursday, including single-use bags, straws and paper cups.
All single-use, disposable straws and bags and paper cups will be banned in convenience stores,coffee shops and restaurants starting Nov. 24.
