One Israeli tourist dies after bus flips over

A bus with Israeli tourists turned over on a road in Chungju, North Chungcheong, killing one person and injuring 34 others on Thursday evening.  
 
According to the Chungbuk Fire Service Headquarters, 11 passengers were seriously injured when the tour bus flipped over on a curb at 6:05 p.m. and were taken to the hospital.  
 
One of these passengers in a critical condition who was in his 60s later died.  
 
The bus was taking the 33 Israeli tourists to their hotel in Suanbo-myeon from a trip from Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang and passed through Andong. There was a driver and a guide, who suffered minor injuries.  
 
Fire authorities dispatched 53 personnel to the scene to deal with the accident.  
 
The police said they are currently investigating the case, including a statement by the Korean driver who claimed there was a faulty gearbox.  
 
The Korean Foreign Ministry said it will provide necessary support for the Israeli victims when there is a request from the Israeli Embassy in Seoul.
