KCTU Appeals to ILO

The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) on September 8 announced, 'The government has recently been repressing our activities by the firing of two officials so we decided to appeal to the International Labor Organization (ILO).'
KCTU said, 'ILO regulations assures that all the public or private labor organizations should not be restricted in their rights of congregation for any reason. However the government, although it promised to recognize labor unions and the right to meet, has consistently suppressed our labor union and encroached on the regulations.'
