Foreigners Think Korea"s Bureaucrats and Chaebols are Obstacles in Restructurin

Foreign officials at international institutes including the International Bank for Research and Development (IBRD) opine that Korea's bureaucrats and chaebols are the biggest obstacles to Korea's restructuring efforts.
According to a report made by the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP)'s U.S. branch, KEI, they share the view that Korea's restructuring will take a long time, with continued suffering in the process.
They also forecasted that investors in the U.S. would be passive in investing toward Korea until next year.
They pointed out that Korea's aggressive labor unions and inflexible labor laws are also problematic.
