Satellite Iridium Phone Service Starts this Month

The satellite cellular phone sevice 'Iridium' which can cover the entire planet from a remote African jungle to a deserted South Pacific island , is available in Korea beginning this November.
The 'magical' phone needs only a single number and hand set.
SK Telecom, Iridium's Korean business partner, announced on November 1, 'Connecting the satellite network and communication lines to form the world's first one line service is on the go from today all around the nation.'
Iridium consists of 20 nations' big business sysdicates such as America's Motorola and Japan's DDI, and serves customers in 121 countries through 66 satellites which orbit the earth at a height of 780km.
A source from SK commented, 'Right now 650 persons have ordered the phone service and we will be distributing the hand set from November 20.'
