FKI to Verify Opinion Leaders" Logic on Economy
The Federation of Korean Industries plans to establish the validity of opinion leaders' logic on the economy. The FKI feels that since the IMF bail-out late last year, people are confused by the illogical and often groundless pronouncements made by opinion leaders including journalists, professors, policy makers and civil institutes.Accordingly, the FKI announced on November 9 that it would make, by January in 1999, a comprehensive report on opinion leaders' statements during the last one year in an effort to see if they are justified.
A source at the FKI pointed out, ' For example, in case of Kia Motors, some professors insisted originally that Kia should maintain its own management by itself. But later, they criticized the delay of the sale of Kia.'
