Unemployment Rate Slightly Down in October
The unemployment rate in October was 7.1%, slightly lower than in the past three consecutive months. This is attributed to the harvest season in which farmers require a lot of additional hands and also the governemnt's active efforts to bolster public service jobs, recently.
The Bureau of Statistics on November 26 announced their report titled the 'Drift of Employment in October' that describes the slowing of the unemployment rate since August.
The number of jobless in October fell to 1.53 millions, a 36,000 decrease than a month ago. Currently, the work force reached 20 millions with 6.2 million full-time employees.
However, the report shows that full-time jobs are still hard to find and it is rather temporary and part-time positions which are increasing.
