Financial Supervisory Office"s Structure Finally Formed
The Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) announced on December 18 that it has finally decided the structure of the Financial Supervisory Office(FSO) which will be launched in January 1999.The structure of the FSO, which will substitute for various kinds of financial supervisory offices including the Banking Supervisory Office beginning early next year, will be composed of 36 bureaus and 42 departments.
Accordingly, the FSC will decide upon its officials' positions beginning December 24.
The FSC will align its structure so as to avoid bureaucratic duplication and allow each department to concentrate on a specific function.
The FSO will set up four local offices in Pusan, Taegu, Kwangju and Taejon and three overseas offices in New York, London and Tokyo.
