YS Delays Press Conference
Former President Kim Young Sam, on February 9, suddenly postponed his scheduled press conference on the current economic hearing and the political situation which he labelled a 'fixed scenario'.The public interview was officially put off, If not cancelled, after Kim met with his staff members the night before at his Sangdo-dong residence in Seoul.
Secretary Pyo Yang Ho said to reporters, 'Kim was advised by his staff and made up his mind to stop the event.'
Kim was expected to strongly criticize the present Kim Dae Jung administration, and plead his innocence over allegations of illegal political fund raising during the 1992 presidential election campaign.
However, one of Kim's closest advisers, Assemblyman Park Jong Woong, asserted, 'Although the event was put aside, Kim's determined to hold the interview. He is still very firm that there will be an interview eventually.'
