Auto Insurance Fee Rise for Traffic Violations

Drivers with 6 major traffic violations after this May 1 to April 2000, will see their insurance fee increase 10 percent from September 2000.
The insurance rate will increase 10 percent in case of a single more serious serious accident. The more serious offenses include leaving the scene of an accident, drunk driving and driving without license.
In addition to that, things such as crossing the center line, speeding and ignoring signals will add 5-10 percent to the cost of insurance.
For good drivers there will be a 10% discount.
For example, a first offence for drunk driving with a car under 2000cc will earn a 45 dollars penalty per year.
The Financial Supervisory Commission on April 13 announced that it will implement the new insurance policy from September 1, 2000.
In addition to the penalties drivers can expect a maximum $160,000 for uninsured compensation.
