Electronic Auctions from 2000

An electronic auctioneering system will be introduced in 2000 in all public agricultural wholesale markets.
Instead of the time-honored system of finger signals, an electronic wireless receiver automatically pinpoints the buyer with the best suggested price.
The system's implementation is to prevent shady deals that often arise while also ending a deal's details to be publicly revealed.
The new system is tentatively being used in Taejon on a trial basis as of last April.
